I think Chris's tutoring probably saved Charlie from total meltdown on Higher Maths... from all accounts a very difficult exam... took all of the students by surprise. Thanks once again for your services, I will recommend you to friends, and probably be in contact before Advanced Highers next year!

Price and Value
What does it cost, is it good value?
Fees - The fee for a Glasgow Tutor is inclusive and is fixed at £32/hr, and we will guarantee this price for the duration of your tuition.
Why is it one fixed price? - We don't subscribe to the trend of an online beauty parade, featuring hundreds of Tutors, where prices might range from an unlikely £12, to an equally unlikely £60. All our tutors are excellent, if they are not we don't use them. We pay Tutors well and fairly. We are a responsible business and operate on profit margins after costs of less than 10% before tax.
When do I pay? - You will be invoiced directly by Glasgow Tutors on a monthly basis, at the end of each calendar month. There are no other charges or extras.
How much will I need? - First of all, we will listen to you and find out what help is needed, then tailor tuition based on the following possibilities:
- 1 hour per week per subject: Hourly sessions are mainly used at Primary level or if a tutee feels the 1.5 hour session is too much.
- 1.5 hours / week per subject : We've found this to be the optimum formula for successful tuition, and it suits most students. The timing is long enough to cover a lot of new ground each session, and weekly sessions mean that the course is intensive while leaving time for the student's other commitments.
- 2 hours / week per subject : If starting tuition from January onwards, or if your child is really lacking confidence, we'd recommend this more intensive programme.
The length of each session depends on your child's needs and of course your budget. You determine the optimum with the Tutor. There is never any pressure to sell you it's not the way we work (the only extra we would request is your honest feedback).
Is it flexible? - We fully appreciate that sometimes you may need to miss a session, and here of course we are flexible: your tutor will try to re-arrange a time to suit you. We set no rules about this but rather we trust that our clients will let us know in good time any changes they wish to make.
Are there any other charges for materials, travel, homework setting/marking, past papers etc? - No
Tuition with Glasgow Tutors is built around weekly sessions to maximise learning and commitment from the student. Around an hour's homework will be set per subject per week. Homework can be varied to suit the student's workload. The length and frequency of sessions can be arranged with the Tutor directly, as he or she will be best to give you suggestions after meeting your child and assessing their ability.
We're sure that like our parents and students (read what parents and students say), you will find tuition with us to be an invaluable boost to your child's confidence and education.
